HEAR: (7.9.10) THE JAMESES – “Haunted Rider”
Cue the haunting organs, kick in the toe-tappin’ rock beat, melt in mature vocals/lyrics and you’ve got a GREAT track. Quite possibly one of the best tracks of the year. Please give it a listen.

HEAR IT: (7.8.10) BEACH FOSSILS – “DAYDREAM”
This track is why I love this band. I love it’s guitar blended with the vocals. It reminds of Huntington Beach circa 1986. My vans, the orange bathing suits and the summer joy. I get happy every time I put it on. I think it will conjure the same feeling for you all as well. I know it’s a YouTube video, but it’s the best way for me to show/hear the track.
HEAR IT: (7.7.10) ETERNAL SUMMERS – “Pure Affection”
Let’s slow it down now…a pretty little hearbreaker from Daniel and Nicole. A beautiful track, not too sad because of Nicole’s ability to bring you back up.
HEAR IT: (7.6.10) THE MYNABIRDS – “LET THE RECORD GO”
If Carole King was part of the Indie scene, floating around Echo Park, visiting Beck for a Record Club evening, this is what she would sound like. Add a little Emily Haines sprinkled with Swift’s piano, drum arrangement and you have a beautiful track.
HEAR IT: (7.1.10) MATHEMAGIC – I think it’s a perfect summer track. Made for the beach tent, dawn with your loved one and one blanket as you watch the sun go down. It’s dreamy, spacey and a good good next stage of The Pet Sound…I am coining that term for all bands that use The Beach Boys “Pet Sounds” sound…
HEAR IT: (6.30.10) – Creaking floors and haunting melodies, sonically display that lonely empty house feeling. Both tracks introduce us to the complicated yet simple sounds of Lost in the Trees.
“Marathon” challenges the time warp and forces us back 50 years ago, where one enjoyed the lovely optimism of America. Alaina’s voice is up there with the best of the them, but when it’s coupled with Riley’s organ, you have to wonder if on that boat they weren’t listening to some Doors. Enjoy. It’s hard to imagine that these two originated from The Rockies and not from Brooklyn post NYU film school.

Serious love for this track. Can you hear the comparison of leadman Alex Chappo to Ben Bridewell of Band of Horses? Listen to this track, more coming soon. Chappo – Come Home
Enjoy the Album Boys Outside – Please listen to “I Let Her In” great and haunting track.

Here is the whole album for your pure listening enjoyment. I promise that this will be your new favorite band.
Tame Impala – Runway, Houses, City, Clouds
7 minutes of 60’s psych rock. I love this track and it’s actually approachable. If you love Dungen as much as I do, you’ll love this track.
Tame Impala departed from Perth in 2008, signed with Modular with one mission, bring us space age rock with Parker’s Lennon style vocals. It’s beauty is consistent and instantaneous. They belong in The Ark, that place where bands named after animals reside. Enjoy

This will be the opening track to their new record…my guess, but what a way to start. I love the speed of this track and the fact that it reminds me of summer in the Keys or anywhere in South Florida. GET ME A DRINK!!!
